VASONT SYSTEMS’ NEW INTEGRATION COMBINES STRUCTURED
AUTHORING IN MICROSOFT WORD WITH CONTENT MANAGEMENT
Integration with In.vision Research’s Xpress
Author for Microsoft Word enables users to contribute XML
content directly to the Vasont Content Management System for
delivery across numerous media channels
EMIGSVILLE, PA, May 19, 2008 – Vasont Systems,
a leading provider of content management software and data
services, today announced the completion of the extension
integrating their flagship Vasont content management system
with In.vision
Research’s Xpress Author for Microsoft Word. This
integration allows publishing clients to author and edit XML
content in Microsoft Word while managing and storing it in
the Vasont content management system for delivery across multiple
media channels.
More and more organizations are realizing the benefits of
publishing their content in a structured environment. With
Vasont’s new extension, Microsoft Word users can now
work in an XML environment utilizing the Vasont content management
system and Xpress Author to update their technical documentation,
training materials, knowledge bases and other documentation
for publication. Writers simply work in Microsoft Word while
accessing and updating the Vasont repository through a simple
menu option.
“Writers are used to working in Microsoft Word, which
is unstructured and easy to use,” said Suzanne Mescan,
Vice President of Marketing for Vasont Systems. “One
mention of XML and writers typically get scared. This extension
makes XML invisible to the writers while giving them the ability
to work within a corporate content management strategy to
publish their documentation more effectively.”
“Multi-channel publishing has moved beyond a niche technology
to become an essential part of a successful business strategy,”
said Michael Boses, Chief Technology Officer for In.vision.
“Vasont Systems has established the value of enterprise
strength content services and we are pleased to bring enterprise-wide
XML authoring in Microsoft Word to this partnership.”
